One of the most beautiful places in England

There are so many places to visit in England but one of the most renowned would have to be the Lake District. This mountainous region in North West England is not only a popular tourist destination but a tranquil and calm place to live.

The highest mountain is Scaffel Pike at 978m; this can be climbed with professional hikers or simply a group of friends. Despite the Lakes being born from Mother Nature and totally unharmed, there are several cafes and boutiques to return you to reality and provide a well-deserved break after a hard day of hiking.

When the sun is shining, the Lake District really is the place to be, the mountains sparkling at the top pushing you to climb them. The area is home to a range of wildlife, some of which is unique in England. It is home to the red squirrel so don’t forget to bring your camera when visiting the Lakes. Whether taking snaps of the inhabitant wildlife or the shimmering rivers, make sure your camera is handy helping you to remember special moments of your visit.

If walking isn’t quite your thing, then fear not. There are plenty of
boat trips available, the most renowned are in Windermere where 3 popular boat trips exploring the Lakes are ran constantly throughout the day and throughout the year. However don’t let the vast number of tourists put you off coming here, the Park extends over 32 miles from east to west and nearly 40 miles from north to south, therefore you’ll never find it getting too busy, even in the peak of Summer.

If you chose to take a tour around the likes you’re likely to be shown the houses of the rich and famous buried in the mountains. The Lake District’s has links with a wealth of artists and writers, such as the all famous Brit award winner Sting.

The Lakes mountainous geography makes it the dampest place in England. However, don’t let this put you off as there are plenty local shops selling all sorts of well-priced waterproofs. In many of the villages there are plenty of
restaurants and hotels too. Whether you’re looking for chain restaurants or that some place special, make sure you look online for the latest coupon deals saving you anything between 5 and 50%. The special deals would certainly help you to enjoy your visit to the Lakes, allowing you to not only enjoy yourself but also save money from your standard holiday.

However, it has to be said, the most beautiful thing about the Lake District is definitely the magnificent views. From wherever you are they’ll always be a picture perfect bit of scenery, full of greenery and the icy cold shimmering lakes. As one of the most beautiful places in England I would highly recommend the Lake District for the perfect place to visit.
