On our countdown of top 5 most romantic places to visit we place in 5th place the iconic city of love; Paris.

Everything about Paris screams out that it is a city for lovers, from the romantic accents, to the moonlight strolls along the Seine, to amazingly beautiful backdrops amongst old fashioned cafes. Of course, Paris is famous for having the Eiffel Tower, a must visit for any lovers. In fact, Paris sees millions of young couples flocking over every year bask in the romantic and scenic environment.

In 4th place we have London – generally not quite thought of being a romantic city such as Paris, London has certainly envolved over the years and a destination for lovers. Although the cosmopolitan city really comes to life at night and becomes a glowing hub of nightlife, there is still plenty of romantic spots which couples can find. For example even by going for spa breaks, a delicious meal at the Savoy or ice skating outside the Natural History Museum there is plenty for couples to do.

In 3rd place we have the amazing Florence in Italy. Italy truly has it all when it comes to romantic getaways such as a quiet seaside village, beautiful countrysides, or even a simple day out viewing the beautiful Italian architecture. The Piazzale Michelangelo landmark is an incredibly romantic landscape and a place which sees many marriage proposals a year. The Renaissance period gives Florence a unique ambience adding to the air of romance. This is generally depicted with the city providing the world with numerous famous romantic artists such as Michelangelo and Botticelli. Take your loved one here and end the evening after a candlelit dinner with a romantic kiss on the Vecchio Bridge.

No list would be complete without the inclusion of Rome. This is one of the worlds most magical cities with tourists coming far and wide to throw coins into the various fountains scattered around the city – making wishes such as hoping their other half will propose! For fans of architecture, this cities beautiful fountains, stone monuments and sculpures really add to the romantic feel along with the cobblestone streets. This city is truly one place couples need to visit, especially this Valentines!

Finally in first place it’s another one of Italys gems. I know I’ve included Italy 3 times, but it really is a romantic city. Venice really is a city that is famous for its amazing sights and romantic experiences. No trip to Venice would be complete without a Gondola ride, a historic tradition of how people used to travel along its fairytale canals.
